Description: Program managed implementation of an outsourcing strategy to deploy a new global IP network. The global IP network would support the migration from legacy financial applications transported through an international X.25 network environment to a modern set of financial applications. The network supported 7.8M daily financial transactions ($5T) for 7,400 banks in 198 countries. The program developed the team organization to manage the enterprise network upgrade, migration and integration of the $300M, multiyear vendor contract. This included project management and technical oversight for implementing a global IP data network, migration of existing X.25 network clients to a new secure IP network using VPN technology and decommissioning the X.25 network. Provided program manager and project manager technical oversight services for five project teams: X.25 network and telecommunications carrier consolidation, IP network implementation, customer provisioning and connectivity, help desk and network management integration and human resource migration and integration. Description: Project managed and chief engineered the Ameritech Consumer Services Call Center Data Network and Systems Infrastructure Enhancement Project. This project upgraded the data network and information technology systems infrastructure in 23 call centers supporting 7,500 agents and 500 managers and support staff throughout the US Midwest. The project scope included detailed design, procurement and implementation of standardized infrastructure throughout all Consumer Services call centers. This included structured cable plant (10,000 work area outlets), data network (routers, switches and hubs supporting token ring/16, Ethernet, and FDDI local area networks), network management systems (NMS), Compaq NT server systems (print and file sharing, messaging middleware, domain controllers and directory services, WINs, backup, and other applications), network protocol standardization, improved and standardized IP addressing schema, standardized WAN connectivity, security systems, enhanced power protection and other information technology systems infrastructure. Enhanced failure protection was implemented with redundant routers and WAN connectivity, redundant NT server systems and RAID 1 mirror drive protection, UPS and generator power protection and other infrastructure and application redundancies and failure protection systems. The scope of work also required decommissioning existing NCR UNIX systems and phased implementation without loss of call center production time. The project also included infrastructure upgrade to five data centers located throughout the region. Developed, implemented and managed an enhanced call center data network and systems infrastructure operations support center staffed 24x7 during the project implementation. As planned, the support center function transitioned to permanent Ameritech support staff upon completion of the project. The project also included quality assurance, acceptance testing and production migration support.

Description: Project managed and chief engineered the design, implementation and migration support for the new Lutheran General Health System (LGHS) Open Systems Architecture (OSA) enterprise network. The multi-protocol enterprise network (IP, IPX, AppleTalk and SRB) supported multicampus facilities with 13 buildings (112 total floors), 39 WAN connected remote facilities and remote secure dial-up access users.
